Redesigning the UTDesign Capstone Website to Drive Corporate Sponsorship Growth
UTDesign Capstone connects senior engineering students with companies for real-world projects. But the old website made it hard for sponsors to get involved—key links were buried, and the navigation centered only on students. I led a full redesign to refocus the site around business goals. By surfacing sponsor information, clarifying calls to action, and aligning with UT Dallas branding, we made it easier for companies to partner with the program. Within a year, corporate sponsorships grew by 20%. The site now meets WCAG AA accessibility standards and delivers a clean, professional look that reflects the quality of the program.

Problem
The original site failed to support UTDesign’s business objectives. Sponsor details were hidden several clicks deep, accessibility was inconsistent, and the design didn’t reflect the professionalism expected by corporate partners. As a result, the program missed out on potential sponsorships.
Solution
I restructured the website into two clear pathways: one for students and one for sponsors. The sponsor flow now highlights benefits, includes clear “Sponsor a Project” CTAs, and features past success stories to build credibility. The design follows WCAG 2.1 AA standards and aligns with UT Dallas’ visual identity, creating a consistent and trustworthy experience. This redesign transformed UTDesign Capstone’s online presence into a tool for business growth. Boosting sponsor engagement by 20% and positioning the program as a professional, accessible, and partnership-ready initiative.
